The Bochum Climate Plan 2035 is an innovative, action- and implementation-oriented concept for achieving climate neutrality and to increase climate resilience. It is based on water-sensitive urban development in the sense of a sustainable sponge city. Climate protection and climate impact adaptation thus form equal technical pillars for the development and subsequent implementation of the plan.
In addition to a comprehensive inventory and risk analysis, the work focused on revising and updating existing guidelines, strategies and concepts as a basis for the development of implementation-oriented measures. The comprehensive action plan was developed as part of a hybrid participation process and through the participation of key stakeholders from business, politics, administration, science and the entire urban community.
EPC coordinated the project and was responsible for the participation process accompanying the project as well as parts of the development of measures.
